This state owned, long closed asylum operated from the early 1900s till the 1960s. It transformed and grew over the decades, evolving from an asylum to a sanitarium before closing. It is nestled in a remote pocket, far from the hustle of the city or respectable suburban neighborhoods. This made it a popular 'UrbEx' location for a few years, given the damage to the building that isn't tied to weather, age, and lack of upkeep.
